Balik na uli sa pagpapakita ng mga sexy and daring films ang streaming platform ng Viva Films na Vivamax.
Akala kasi ng ibang showbiz insiders, ititigil na ang pagpapalabas ng mga sexy films sa Vivamax pagkatapos nilang magkaroon ng Memorandum of Agreement with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) na nagkapirmahan noong January 27, 2023.
This time, magpapalabas na ulit ang Vivamax ng mga bagong sexy films gaya ng Sandwich mula sa Center Stage Productions ng international award-winning director na si Brillante Mendoza at ito ang first directorial job ng 27-year-old na si Jao Daniel Elamparo.
Si Direk Jao ang editor ng pinag-usapang pelikula na Death of a Girlfriend.
Itinanggi ni Direk Jao na binawasan nila ang mga love scenes sa Sandwich in compliance sa kasunduan ng Viva at MTRCB.
"Uh, parang feeling ko hindi, eh. I think 'yun naman ang gusto ng audience. Kaya 'yun ang ibibigay namin, kung ano 'yung gusto nila," paglilinaw ni Direk Jao.
May tsika rin na noong February pa pala dapat ipapalabas ang Sandwich. Pero dahil mainit pa ang isyu tungkol sa mga streaming platforms na nagpapalabas ng mga sexy films, kaya mistulang itinago muna nila ang nasabing pelikula.
"Oo, eh," pagkumpirma ni Direk Jao. "Alam ko, nagkaproblema rin with MTRCB yata. So, we have to… oo, nagpalamig muna."
Ang Sandwich ay pinagbibidahan nina Luke Selby, Kat Dovey, Andrea Garcia at Nico Locco.
Magsisimula nang mapanood ang sexy movie sa Vivamax ngayong May 19.
Kuwento ni Direk Jao sa kanyang mga artista sa nasabing pelikula, "First time naming naka-work si Nico, grabe. Nagulat kami, actually. Mabuting gulat naman. Iba ang lines ni Nico rito. Parang, 'yung mga dialogues dito, sobrang impromptu. Kapag napanood ninyo 'yung film, kahit ako mismo, nagugulat.
"Si Kat, naka-work na namin siya dati and I think ito 'yung best niya, so far. I mean, nag-improve naman siya in every project that she did, eh. Ito ang latest film niya and for me, makikita n'yo rito ang best acting niya.
"Medyo short lang ang stint ni Andrea sa movie. Pero malakas, kaya magugulat din kayo sa role niya. Ipinakita niya 'yung, feeling ko, hindi lang one-dimensional ang character niya rito, makikita lahat ng emosyon dito ni Andrea.
"And last but not the least, Luke Selby. I think this is the second time na naka-work namin siya. At makikita n'yo naman sa film kung gaano siya kagaling dito. And he's the boldest, yeah. Yeah, for sure."
Grateful si Direk Jao sa chance and trust na ibinigay sa kanya ni Direk Brillante na makapagdirek din ng pelikula nito.
"Well, of course, nandiyan si Direk Brillante to guide us. I'm very grateful to him, kasi hindi lahat, nabibigyan ng ganitong chance to be guided by Direk Brillante."
Bumilib naman kay Direk Jao ang mga artista niya sa pelikulang Sandwich.
Sey ni Nico, "There's a collaborative effort between me and Direk Jao. And that's what I love about Center Stage (Productions), working with Direk Brillante and Direk Jao. It's a very collaborative process. I mean, they're very interested in our ideas as actors. So, I really feel I'm an artist when I worked for Direk Jao in this film."
Gayun din naman si Kat na gumanap bilang nurse at misis ni Luke sa pelikula.
"I would say so. I mean, I always love to work with Center Stage because every time is really a learning experience. And this one was just another one. And, it really pushed me further than I had ever been pushed before," lahad ni Kat.
Hindi naramdaman ng mga artista niya na isang baguhang direktor si Direk Jao.
Paliwanag ni Andrea, "I don't feel he's a newbie at all. Kasi, Center Stage and Direk Jao, specifically everybody is such a professional. It's so easy to work with them and they're all very collaborative. And it was such a great feeling to work with Center Stage. It's my second project with them. So, my first and second time, it's definitely the same experience to me."
Ayon naman kay Kat, "Everyone has a chance when working with Direk Brillante to see and witness and learn. Like what Direk Jao said, even us, actors, we learn things every time we work with Direk Brillante. So, parang hindi na rin siya baguhan."
Mula sa Vivamax, pramis nila na hindi raw sila hihinto sa pagbibigay ng entertainment sa kanilang mga manonood sa iba't ibang panig ng mundo.
