Walk-in sa mga embahada ng ‘Pinas at konsulado, puwede na — DFA

Ipagpapatuloy na ang mga walk-in transactions sa lahat ng mga embahada ng Pilipinas at mga konsulado simula Marso 21, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).


Sa isang tweet ngayong Miyerkules, sinabi ni DFA Undersecretary Brigido Dulay na iniutos na ni DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. sa lahat ng Philippine embassies at consulates sa buong mundo na magbalik na sa operasyon gaya noong panahon ng pre-pandemic.


“SFA @teddyboylocsin has ordered all our Embassies & consulates worldwide to return to normal (pre-pandemic) operations just like @DFAPHL Manila. We cannot discriminate against those slaving in PH HQ. WALK-IN transactions in all posts abroad shall RESUME on Monday, March 21st,” sabi ni Dulay.


Samantala, naglabas naman ng direktiba si Locsin hinggil sa pagtanggap ng mga refugee applications habang aniya, pinapayagan pa ang isang agreement sa Department of Justice (DOJ).


“My Department of Foreign Affairs is instructed to receive applications for refugee status while it works out an arrangement with the Department of Justice for an efficient process (to be initiated by my foreign posts) with the DOJ having the last say. Period,” pahayag ni Locsin sa isang hiwalay na tweet.


Una nang sinabi ni Locsin na ang Pilipinas ay tumanggap ng mga Afghan refugees, ilang linggo matapos na i-takeover ng Taliban ang Afghanistan noong nakaraang Agosto.

Gayunman, hindi ipinahayag ni Locsin kung ilang mga Afghans ang ginawang kanlungan ang Pilipinas.
