Valdez, 9 pa puntirya ang 1st gold sa 65 taon

Sa pangunguna ni 2021 Tokyo Olympic shooter Jayson Valdez, asinta ng 10 atleta na tighawin ang panunuyo sa gintong medalya ng ‘Pinas sa 65 na taon sa 19th Asian Games 2022 sa China sa Sept. 23-Oct. 8.


Kasama rin sina 2021 Tokyo Olympian Jason Valdez, 2012 London Olympian Brian Rosario at 2008 Beijing Olympian Eric Ang, veteran internationalists Carlos Carag, Amparo Teresa ‘Ampao’ Acuna, Franchette Shayne Quiroz, Elvie Baldivino, Hagen Alexander Topacio at Joaquin Miguel Ancheta at rookie Enrique Enriquez.


Mga suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission at Philippine Olympic Committee, papalag sina Valdez, 28, Acuna, 26, Quiroz, 26, at Baldivino sa rifle; sina Ang, 52, Carag, 60, at Topacio sa trap; sina Rosario, Ancheta at Enriquez, 31, sa skeet.


Tiwala si PNSA secretary-general Iryne Garcia na may magkakamedalya sa mga national marksmen sa halos 3-week quadrennial continental sportsfest.

Last gold medalist si Adoldo Feliciano noong 1958 Tokyo Games sa men 300-meter rifle position, samantalang huling nagkamedalya si Jethro Dionisio sa 2-bronze sa 2002 Busan sa men’s trap individual at kasama niya sa men’s team trap sina Ang at Jaime Recio.
