UAE ginawang apat at kalahating araw ang work week; weekend ginawang Sabado at Linggo

Magiging apat at kalahating araw nalang ang working week at Sabado at Linggo na ang weekends sa United Arab Emirates simula January 1, 2022.

Dati ay tuwing Biyernes at Sabado ang weekend sa UAE.

Layon daw ng four-and-a-half day work week na ma-boost ang productivity ng mga tao at ma-improve ang work-life balance.

"The UAE is the first nation in the world to introduce a national working week shorter than the global five-day week," ayon sa official news agency na WAM.

Ang UAE rin ang tanging Gulf country na may Saturday-Sunday weekend. Magsisimula ang kanilang weekend tuwing Biyernes nang tanghali, ang araw ng pagdarasal sa Muslim countries.

"The extended weekend comes as part of the UAE government's efforts to boost work-life balance and enhance social wellbeing, while increasing performance to advance the UAE's economic competitiveness,” ayon pa sa pahayag.
