Bubuksan na muli sa mga turista ang tinaguriang Surfing Capital ng Pilipinas na Siargao Island simula Nobyembre 23.
Sa inilabas na executive order ni General Luna Mayor Cecilia Ruson, papayagan nang makapasok ang mga turista sa isla at bubuksan na rin simula Disyembre 1 ang Siargao at Surigao Airport.
Nangako naman ang lokal na pamahalaan ng General Luna na patuloy pa rin na susundin ang travel guidelines at protocols pati na rin ang ilang precautionary measures tulad ng 5-day confirmed booking.
"We have to control the volume of tourists coming in and that we need to assess and adjust with the situation momentarily, rest assured, we will be reconsidering the same in due time," sabi ni Ruson.
Bukod pa rito, ipagbabawal pa rin sa Siargao ang non-essential gathering at patuloy pa rin ang pagsasagawa ng mga health protocols tulad ng pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield, physical distancing at hand sanitation.
Ayon naman kay Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, "As Siargao reopens to travelers, subject to minimum health and safety standards, the people of the island will regain their livelihood and share their paradise to our kababayans once more with the same level of hospitality they have always been known for."
