Kinumpirma ni Vice-President Leni Robredo na sasailalim siya sa 14-day quarantine matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang kanyang security personnel at kabilang siya sa naging close contact nito.
Batay sa kanyang Facebook post, “I was all set to go. But just a few minutes ago, I received a contact tracing call informing me that my close-in security has tested positive for COVID-19.”
Paliwanag pa niya, “I was with him in the car, in the elevator, and in the office almost everyday this week. We have regular surveillance antigen testing in the office and we do follow very strict health protocols but because I was a very close contact, I need to do the required quarantine and do an RT-PCR test after my quarantine.”
Matatandaang nagpositibo rin sa virus noong July ang apat na staff ni VP Robredo na naging dahilan para i-suspend ang operasyon ng Office of the Vice-President sa loob nang ilang araw.
Sa ngayon ay 914,971 na ang kabuuang bilang ng COVID-19 sa bansa, kung saan 193,476 ang aktibong kaso, habang 705,757 ang mga gumaling at 15,738 ang pumanaw.
Samantala, 10,726 naman ang nagpositibo batay sa huling tala ng Department of Health (DOH).
