Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. on Tuesday co-sponsored Senate Bill No. 2805 which seeks to strengthen and expand the mandate, capabilities, and organizational structure of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

One of the key features of the bill is the grant of power to MTRCB to screen, review, and examine movies, television programs or series being streamed through on-demand online streaming services.

“Almost 40 years since its inception, it cannot be denied how the entertainment industry has evolved especially with the advent of technology. Marami na pong nagbago at nag-iba na rin ang anyo ng sining. This measure therefore is not only long overdue, but prudent considering that laws must not only adapt to these changes, but be as evolving and dynamic in order to keep up with the times,” Revilla said.
