Inamin ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla na siya ang nagbigay ng clearance para isilbi ang warrant ng International Criminal Court (ICC) kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ilipad sa The Hague para harapin ang mga kasong crimes against humanity kaugnay sa ng war on drugs ng dating administrasyon.


Sa pagdinig ng Senate committee on foreign relations na pinamumunuan ni Senadora Imee Marcos, sinabi ni Remulla na ang clearance na ibinigay ng Department of Justice "ay marahil ang pinakamahalagang bahagi nito upang ihatid ang warrant of arrest at isuko ang isang tao sa ilalim ng batas".


“In some ways because I gave them the legal basis for all the actions that happened… If I have to be the one, if I'm the one that is being referred to," wika niya.


"I will admit it that I gave the clearances to—number one, serve the warrant of arrest as I saw it, as I deem fit. And number two, to fly him to The Hague, to be surrendered under Section 17 of Republic Act 9851,” ayon pa kay Remulla.


Nauna nang sinabi ng kalihim na sinusubukan na umamin sila sa harap ng mga senador sa mga usapin na may kaugnayan sa pag-aresto sa dating Pangulo.
