Remdesivir vs. COVID-19, wa' epek - WHO

ni Mary Gutierrez Almirañez | May 09, 2021

Maituturing na paglabag kung patuloy pa ring bibili ng Remdesivir ang Department of Health (DOH) sa kabila ng pagbabawal ng World Health Organization (WHO) na gamitin iyon kontra COVID-19 dahil sa lumabas na adverse events at limitadong bisa nito laban sa virus.

Ayon kay Representative Michael Defensor, “All further purchases of Remdesivir after the WHO came out with its adverse recommendation may be deemed as transactions highly detrimental to the government under the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.”

Aniya, sa halip na bumili ng Remdesivir ay idagdag na lamang ang pondo nito sa pambili ng COVID-19 vaccines.

Paliwanag pa niya, “The problem with Remdesivir is its outrageous price, and yet, based on the findings of the WHO, the drug offers no significant relief to patients.”

Maaari ring masampahan ng criminal charges ang DOH officials o 10 taon na pagkakakulong kung patuloy pa rin silang bibili ng Remdesivir.
