PSC, nagpasuspinde na rin ng indoor at outdoor trainings

Sinuspinde muna ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang pagsasanay at paghahanda ng pambansang koponan kasunod ng anunsyo ng pagsasailalim sa buong National Capital Region (NCR) at higit pa o “NCR Plus” bubble sa Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) sa ikalawang pagkakataon.


Masasakop ng naturang “NCR Plus” ang buong Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna at Rizal na inilagay sa ECQ simula Lunes, Marso 29, hanggang Abril 4 dahil sa pagtaas muli ng mga kaso ng Covid-19.


Ipinag-utos ng PSC na ipapatigil muna pansamantala ang mga indoor at outdoor trainings ng national teams na nasasakop ng naturang panukala, at hinimok muna ng ahensya ang lahat ng national sports associations (NSAs) na magpatuloy muna ng mga pagsasanay sa online trainings.


The NSAs encouraged to practice online individual training and no group activities shall be conducted,” ayon sa inilabas na advisory ng PSC. “Further, all national training pool members must ensure proper compliance with relevant precautionary measures of the Department of Health and IATF-issued health and safety protocol at all times," dagdag sa nasabing abiso.


Matatandaang patuloy na nagsasanay at naghahanda ang mga atletang nais makapasok sa 2021 Tokyo Olympics sa darating na Hulyo 24-Agosto 8 sa Tokyo, Japan matapos payagang makapag-ensayo sa anunsyo ng IATF noong Disyembre para ngayong taon.


Lahat ng kuwalipikado para sa Summer Olympic Games ay nasa labas ng Pilipinas para magsanay, na sina men’s pole vaulter Ernest Obiena na nasa Italy, gymnast Caloy Yulo na nasa Japan, men’s middleweight boxer Eumir Felix Marcial na nasa Wild Card Gym sa Los Angeles, California, habang sina 2019 AIBA women’s World champion Nesthy Petecio, Irish Magno at Carlo Paalam ay nasa Thailand.


Nasa Istanbul, Turkey ang national karatekas na sina 30th SEAG champion Jamie Lim (women’s +61kgs), biennial meet bronze medalists Joane Orbon (women’s -61kgs), Sharief Afif (men’s +75kgs), Ivan Agustin (men’s -75kgs) at Alwyn Batican (men’s -67kgs), habang si 2018 Asian Games bronze medalist Junaa Tsukii ay nasa Serbia pa, at maaaring sumunod sa kanyang mga ka-team mates.
