Sulit ang panonood namin ng Uninvited sa sinehan on a rainy Christmas day sa pagsisimula ng ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Thanks to Mentorque Productions headed by Bryan Dy na nagpatawag ng special screening ng Uninvited for the entertainment media at nagkaroon kami ng chance to watch another excellent film ni Vilma Santos.
And the rest, especially ‘yung mga nakaeksena si Ate Vi, ‘di sila ‘nagpalamon’ ‘noh!
Nag-viral s’ya on its own today and I think, even though it’s R-16, we’re pretty confident it will surpass Mallari’s performance last year. Because, we saw the numbers coming in already.”
Pero sabi ng iba, mas matindi raw ang labanan sa takilya ng mga entries sa MMFF this year.
“Yes. Actually, ‘yun talaga ang… which is very, very fortunate for the film industry. Ang daming magagandang pelikula and uhm, lahat kami, alam kong, it’s a friendly competition. But at the end of the day, it’s a competition.
“Alam n’yo po, we understand the decision ng lahat-lahat. But I have to tell this in the industry, ‘no? I think we have to be more helpful to each other. Let’s have a friendly competition. Let our product speak for itself. We will be needing each other along the way lalo na po sa amin na mga baguhan. Pero kami, we respect everyone’s decision,” lahad niya.
Last year, si Ate Vi ang nanalong Best Actress. May mga naniniwala na makakapag-back-to-back win ang Star for All Seasons this year.
“Alam mo si Ate Vi, just to be honest, wala na s’yang dapat patunayan. At the end of the day, ang pinakamahalaga sa akin is did she enjoy doing this?
“I mean, that’s more important than anything. I know that there will always be pressure. But at the end of the day, I think whatever it is, ‘di ba, uh, Vilma Santos will always be Vilma Santos.
“Kami nga, lahat kami nagpunta rito, alam namin na it’s a competition. We brought everything, nakita n’yo naman. Walang tapon lahat.
“So, we just brought everything here. I think everyone deserves it but definitely, it’s really up to the jury and we respect that.
“But of course, yes, Ate Vi is my best actress. At kung makikita n’yo naman ‘yung range ng akting n’ya na ipinakita rito, talaga namang from pent-up to outburst, ‘di ba?
“Ako, I’m just happy sa reaction of the people now, lalo na ‘yung mga nakapanood online, it’s really heartwarming.
Now na!
