Nilagdaan na ng private firms sa Pilipinas ang supply agreement para sa 2.6 million doses ng AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Bibilhin umano ng mga private firms ang vaccines at ido-donate ang kalahati ng suplay sa pamahalaan at ang kalahati ay para sa kanilang mga empleyado, ayon kay Government Business Adviser Joey Concepcion.
Inaasahang darating sa bansa ang mga naturang vaccines sa Mayo o June sa 2021.
Pahayag naman ni Secretary Carlito Galvez, chief implementer ng National Task Force Against COVID-19, "Through this partnership we are thinking and acting ahead of the virus.
"Through this show of unity and selflessness, which we refer to as the bayanihan spirit, we are demonstrating to the world that although the pandemic knocked us down, we will rise up and come together as one."
