Nagsagawa ng “intrusive patrol" ang pinakamalaking barko sa mundo ng Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) sa Panatag Shoal o mas kilala bilang Scarborough Shoal na pasok sa teritoryo ng 'Pinas.
Ito ay kinumpirma ni Ray Powell, dating opisyal ng United States Air Force at eksperto sa maritime security, sa kanyang post sa ‘X.’
“Over the past 24 hours, the world’s largest coast guard ship, the 165-meter China Coast Guard 5901, together with the 102-meter CCG 5203, conducted a brief intrusive patrol into the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone west of Scarborough Shoal,” saad ni Powell.
Samantala, sinabi ni Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, tagapagsalita ng Philippine Navy para sa West Philippine Sea, na ang nasabing barko ng CCG ay huling nakita 50 nautical miles mula sa Panatag Shoal nitong Biyernes.
