Pekeng gamot, kalat na

Nagbabala ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sa publiko sa pagdami ng mga pekeng over-the-counter na gamot na maaaring magdulot ng masamang epekto sa kalusugan.


Paalala ni FDA Director General Eric Domingo, bumili ng gamot sa mga lisensiyadong establisimyento lamang matapos makumpirma na may mga pekeng gamot na gumagamit ng pangalan ng apat na popular brands.


Ang mga ito ay ang Ponstan (mefenamic acid, 500 mg tablet), Diatabs (loperamide, 2 mg capsule), Solmux (carbocisteine, 500 mg capsule) at Neozep Forte (phenylephrine HCl/chlorphenamine maleate/paracetamol, 2 mg/10 mg/500 mg tablet).


Ang lot numbers ng mga pekeng gamot ay: 429-30228A (na may expiration date na September 2024) sa Ponstan; U018407 sa Diatabs; U089493 sa Solmux; at U261217 sa Neozep Forte.


Ayon sa FDA, hindi akma ang logo at security mark ng mga pekeng gamot sa mga authentic drug na rehistrado.


Saad ni Domingo, “All health-care professionals and the public are being warned against the proliferation of these fake medicines in the market which may cause adverse health effects to its users. All establishments are likewise being warned not to sell these counterfeit medicines.”


Nanawagan din si Domingo sa mga local official at law enforcement agencies na kumpiskahin ang mga pekeng gamot.
