Pagpapadala ng mga OFWs sa Saudi Arabia, stop muna

Sinuspinde ng pamahalaan ang deployment ng mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa Saudi Arabia.


Sa inilabas na memorandum ni Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, ipinag-utos niya sa Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang pansamantalang suspensiyon ng deployment ng mga OFWs sa Saudi Arabia matapos makatanggap ang ahensiya ng ulat na pinasasagot umano ng mga employers/foreign recruitment agencies sa mga manggagawang Pilipino ang mga kailangan upang makapasok sa naturang bansa.


Saad pa ni Bello, “In the interest of the service, you are hereby instructed to effect the temporary suspension of deployment of OFWs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia effective immediately and until further notice.


"The department received reports that departing OFWs are being required by their employers/foreign recruitment agencies to shoulder the costs of the health and safety protocol for COVID-19 and insurance coverage premium upon their entry in the Kingdom."


Samantala, ayon sa DOLE, maglalabas sila ng official statement kung kailan muling magpapatuloy ang deployment ng mga OFWs sa Saudi Arabia kapag nalinaw na ang naturang isyu.
