P46 M disaster response equipment donasyon ng Japan sa ‘Pinas

Natanggap na ng Pilipinas nitong Miyerkules ang P46 milyon halaga ng disaster response equipment mula sa Japan, ayon sa Department of National Defense (DND).


Sa isang statement ng DND ngayong Huwebes, isang ceremonial handover at blessing ceremony ang ginanap sa Philippine Army Headquarters sa Taguig City.


Si Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa, ang siyang nag-represent para sa donasyon ng gobyerno ng Japan na mga life boats at vests, chainsaws, digging tools, at lighting apparatus na may generators.


Labis naman ang pasalamat ni DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa Japan sa mga naturang donasyon, kung saan inaasahang magpapahusay ang mga kagamitan ito sa disaster response assets at kapabilidad ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.


“While we pray that nothing will require their use in the near future, we are comforted by the fact that our Armed Forces is better-equipped to respond to our people’s call for help in any eventuality,” sabi ni Lorenzana.


Ayon sa DND, ang mga equipment ay nakatakdang i-turn over sa Army’s 51st Engineering Brigade, ang unit na naatasan bilang standby disaster response unit sa National Capital Region at kalapit na lugar.
