P28M marijuana plants, sinunog sa Kalinga

Aabot sa P28 milyong halaga ng marijuana plant ang sinunog ng awtoridad sa isinagawang operasyon sa Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan Municipality sa Kalinga Province.


Ayon sa ulat ng Philippine National Police (PNP), ang Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Kalinga Provincial Police Office, at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga ang nagsagawa ng naturang marijuana eradication operation.


Nasa kabuuang 110,000 fully-grown marijuana plants na tinatayang aabot sa halagang P22 million at 50,000 gramo ng marijuana stalks na aabot sa halagang P6 million ang sinunog ng awtoridad sa 5,500 square meters na plantasyon.


Ayon sa PNP, hindi pa tukoy kung sino ang nasa likod ng naturang plantasyon ngunit habang isinasagawa ang operasyon, pinaputukan umano ng hindi pa nakikilalang mga suspek ang awtoridad.


Wala naman umanong nasaktan sa insidente at saad ng PNP, “Investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects who fired shots at the law enforcers and who were the cultivators of the plantation.”
