Maglalaan ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ng P15. 3 bilyong pondo para sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) sa susunod na taon.
Sinabi ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na pagtupad ito sa layunin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., na bigyan ng maayos na edukasyon at mapalakas pa ang skills development ng mga kabataang Filipino.
Bukod aniya sa pagpapalakas sa ekonomiya ng bansa, tututukan din ng gobyerno ang human capital development sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng maayos na edukasyon.
“Access to quality education will also be at the forefront of the government’s education agenda through the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE),” ani Pangandaman.
Sa budget message ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nito na kailangan tutukan ang job at skills mismatch sa bansa.
“By implementing targeted programs and initiatives, we can bridge the gap between job requirements and workers’ skills by equipping them with the necessary expertise to thrive in evolving industries. As the country’s economy continues to recover and the need for more skilled workers continues to rise, it is crucial to retrain, reskill, and retool our workforce,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Nabatid na may nakalaan ding P3.4 bilyon para sa TESDA’s Free Technical-Vocational Education and Training initiative kung saan makikinabang ang nasa 38,179 enrollees at 10,126 graduates.
Samantala, P200 milyon din na inilaan para sa education assistance sa Private Educational Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) program na magbibigay ng training fees at allowances sa 9,708 estudyante at 8,737 na graduates.
