Mga nurse, nag-aalisan ng 'Pinas.. P-BBM sa CHED: Galaw-galaw

Pinakilos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) na agad na tugunan ang kakulangan ng mga nurses sa bansa dahil sa pag-a-abroad na nakaaapekto sa pagbibigay ng epektibong healthcare sa Pilipinas.


"We have to be clever about the healthcare manpower. Our nurses are the best,” pahayag ni Marcos sa pulong kasama ang Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Healthcare Sector group sa Malacañang noong Miyerkules.


"Lahat ng nakakausap kong President, Prime Minister, ang hinihingi is more nurses from the Philippines,” punto pa ng Pangulo habang humihingi siya ng mga kongkretong hakbang sa CHED upang mapanatiling nagtatrabaho ang mga Filipino nurse sa bansa.


Bilang tugon, sinabi ni CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera III na may ginagawa na silang paraan upang maparami ang mga nurse sa bansa.


Kabilang na ang retooling board non-passers, adopting nursing curriculum with exit credentials, redirecting non-practicing nurses at pagsasagawa ng exchange programs sa ibang bansa.


"Under the nursing curriculum with exit credentials, students could have several options: exit at the end of Level I or II, obtain the certificate or diploma in Nursing, or choose to continue and finish the four-year nursing program to become a registered nurse," paliwanag ni De Vera.


Inaayos na rin umano ng CHED ang flexible short-term masteral program upang matugunan ang kakulangan ng mga instructors sa nursing at medical schools.


Binanggit naman ni Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire na ina-assess na ng kanilang hanay ang panukalang Magna Carta for Public Health Care Workers at Philippine Nursing Act habang pinag-aaralan ang

standardization ng suweldo ng mga nurse, doktor at healthcare workers.
