Marcos sa ASEAN leaders: Sumunod sa International Law

Naniniwala si Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., na dapat sumunod ang mga ASEAN leaders sa international law sa rehiyon.

"In order to harness the potential of our region, I believe that ASEAN must double its efforts especially in these following priority areas: first, ASEAN should uphold international law and the international rules based system which has underpinned the peace, security, stability, and prosperity of our region," pahayag ni Marcos sa pagbubukas ng plenary session ng 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

Ito ang binigyang-diin ng Pangulo isang araw matapos niyang sabihin na magpapatuloy niyang isulong ang Code of Conduct sa South China Sea sa ASEAN Summit.

Aniya, hindi kakalma ang tensyon sa rehiyon kung walang Code of Conduct.

"You cannot stop trying so yes I will bring that up again. Because when we talk about the issues in the West Philippine Sea, in the South China Sea, hindi magkakalma iyan hanggang wala tayong Code of Conduct,” pahayag ni Marcos sa panayam ng mga mamamahayag, Martes ng gabi sa Meruorah Convention Center sa Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.
