Nagpositibo si Armed Forces chief Lieutenant General Jose Faustino Jr. sa COVID-19 matapos na sumailalim sa isang RT-PCR test ngayong Lunes. “I received confirmation that I have tested positive to COVID-19 with the result of my RT-PCR this afternoon,” ani Faustino sa isang statement.
Ayon kay Faustino na fully vaccinated na, “I’m in high spirits to continue performing my job, albeit in quarantine.” “I will remain in command of the AFP but will continue to follow the prescribed isolation protocol to ensure the safety of those I work with and my family,” sabi pa niya.
Sinabi ng AFP chief na nais pa rin niyang dumalo virtually sa gaganaping Western Mindanao Command Change of Command Ceremony bukas sa kabila ng kanyang kondisyon.
“Allow me to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to support our government's vaccination efforts and to get inoculated with a COVID-19 vaccine whenever and wherever they can,” dagdag din ni Faustino.
Gayundin, sa press conference kaninang umaga, sinabi ni AFP spokesperson Colonel Ramon Zagala na ang AFP chief ay nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19 gamit ang antigen test.
