Tatayo bilang legal counsel ni Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa si Sen. Francis Tolentino para kumatawan kaugnay sa imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court (ICC) hinggil sa war on drugs noong administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“I accept the proposal of Sen. Dela Rosa to lawyer for him,” ani Tolentino, chairperson ng Senate committee on justice and human rights, sa online news conference kahapon kaugnay sa hiling ni Dela Rosa, na dating chief ng Philippine National Police na nahaharap sa kasong crimes against humanity.
Nanindigan din si Tolentino na dapat dito sa Pilipinas gawin ang imbestigasyon at hindi sa Netherlands.
Kaugnay nito, hindi pa rin umano niya nakakausap si Duterte hinggil sa posibleng kinatawan ng huli sa international tribunal.
"If he wants, I’m just having my papers fixed now for my proper accreditation if that will come to that point,” aniya pa.
“My role would be to ensure the protection of Sen. Dela Rosa, not just within the confines of the ICC. Because we’re claiming that they do not have jurisdiction, but even locally,” wika pa ni Tolentino.
Matatandaang pumasa si Tolentino sa Philippine Bar Exams noong taong 1984 at New York State Bar Exams noong 1991.
