Inanunsiyo ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), na ang huling araw ng mga online sellers o nasa digital at electronic business transactions, para sa kanilang business registration ay hanggang September 1.
Iniurong ang original deadline nito sa dahilang, idineklarang National Heroes’ Day ang August 31.
“Under the law, if a due date falls on a Saturday o kaya Sunday o kaya holiday, the due date will be moved to the next working day,” ayon kay BIR Assistant Commissioner Elenita Quimosing.
“Bali ang mangyayari sa September 1 na, imbis na Monday, sa Tuesday na,” sabi pa ni Quimosing.
Inisyu ng BIR ang Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 75-2020, kung saan extended ang deadline ng online registration na nakasaad sa RMC No. 60-2020, na July 31.
Sa pinakabagong sirkular, ayon kay Quimosing, ang July 31, 2020 deadline na nakasaad sa RMC No. 60-2020 ay, “for registration of the business activity and/or updates with no penalty imposition is hereby extended to August 31, 2020.”
Gayundin, ang RMC 60-2020, may petsang June 1, ay nag-aabiso na,“all persons doing business and earning income in any manner or form, specifically those who are into digital transactions through the use of any electronic platforms and media, and other digital means, to ensure that their businesses are registered pursuant to the provisions of Section 236 of the Tax Code, as amended, and that they are tax compliant.”
Samantala, nakapaloob sa order para sa partner sellers o negosyante, kasama na ang stakeholders, ng payment gateways, delivery channels, internet service providers at iba pang facilitators.
Iminungkahi rin ng BIR sa mga online sellers na, “voluntarily declare their past transactions” o boluntaryong ideklara ang mga dating naging transaksyon.
