Hindi lamang ang Alas Pilipinas ang bibigyan ng oportunidad ng FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup (VCC) for Women para mas umibayo pa ang laro sa “one miss and you’re out” tournament kundi mas masasalang pa sa mga dry run competitions bago pa man ang kauna-unahang solo hosting ng Pilipinas sa FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025.
“We’re down to 14 months to go and at the rate we’re going, we look forward to aiming for a well-hosted world championship in 2025,” ayon kay Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara kasabay ng pasasalamat sa FIVB sa pagkilala sa tagumpay na hosting ng federation na Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s Week 3 sa nakaraang 2 linggo sa Mall of Asia Arena.
“The Philippine’s love for volleyball was clear, setting the stage for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025,” ayon sa FIVB sa official website. “The Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s pool in Manila … attracted a massive turnout of 45,886 fans eager to witness world-class volleyball, an exciting sign of what is to come for the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025 in the country.”
Itatampok sa men’s world championship ang top 32 na mga bansa, kabilang ang host Philippines sa September 12 hanggang 28, 2025 . Ang pinakamaraming physical audience, ayon sa FIVB ay naitala sa huling araw na umabot ng 93.82% at nakabenta ng 12,497 tickets at mapuno ang MOA Arena.
Maghahanda naman si Alas Pilipinas coach Jorge de Brito sa matinding bakbakan kontra Southeast Asia powerhouse Vietnam kasagupa ang nationals sa Biyernes.
Ang VCC ay magsisimula sa Huwebes (July 4) na sisimulan ng laro ng Puerto Rico vs. Kenya ng 3 p.m. at Belgium kontra Sweden ng 6:30 p.m. Haharap ang Pinays sa Vietnamese ng 6:30 p.m. sa Biyernes matapos ang 3 p.m. match ng Argentina at ng Czech Republic.
