Nagpahayag si Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na iginagalang niya ang pahayag ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile hinggil sa impeachment, ngunit binigyang-diin na hindi ito ang tamang panahon para isagawa ang naturang proseso.

Sa isang ambush interview nitong Biyernes, sumang-ayon si Marcos sa babala ni Enrile na maaaring magdulot ng masamang implikasyon ang ipinapakita ng National Rally for Peace ng Iglesia Ni Cristo.

“[...] Even if Congress is mandated to process these—congress doesn’t have. The House doesn’t have a choice, and the Senate doesn’t have a choice once these impeachment complaints are filed,” paliwanag ni Marcos.

“Well, I don't think that now is the time to go through that. So, ipaubaya na muna natin sa ating… tutal as a practical matter, papasok na tayo sa campaign period,” dagdag nito.

Giit ni Marcos, naniniwala siyang hindi pa oras para sumailalim sa proseso ng impeachment.
