Ginamit sa 2022 elections AES at network infrastructure, isinara na ng Comelec

Isinara na ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ngayong Lunes ang Automated Election System (AES) at network infrastructure na ginamit sa katatapos na 2022 national at local elections.


Ayon sa Comelec, ang pagsasara ng mga AES servers at network infrastructure ay ginawa sa harap ng mga political parties at citizen arms, subalit hindi ito bukas sa media coverage para sa seguridad na rin sa data centers.



Bandang alas-10:41 ng umaga sinimulan ng Comelec ang procedure, kung saan ang proseso nito ay ipinalabas livestream sa kanilang official Facebook page at YouTube channel. Inumpisahang i-shutdown ng Comelec ang automated server, physical server, at kanilang network infrastructure sa Backup Data Center-Data One sa Quezon City.


Kasunod nito ang pag-shutdown naman ng kanilang consolidated canvassing system at ang transmission router database sa Central Data Center sa PLDT Vitro Taguig City. Ang AES servers at network infrastructure sa Transparency Data Center sa PLDT Vitro Parañaque ay isinara sabay-sabay sa systems sa Central Data Center sa Taguig City.


Paliwanag ni Comelec acting spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, ang pagsasara nito ay bahagi ng post-election procedures ng poll body.


“Just like with the transparency server po, there will be a backing up procedure to be followed by the shutdown processes,” sabi ni Laudiangco.


“The Data Centers, similar to the Transparency Server, have already served their purposes po for this Elections, thus, necessitating their decommissioning,” pahayag pa ng opisyal. Ayon pa kay Laudiangco, magkakaroon din ng tinatawag na backing up procedure kasunod ng shutdown processes.


Isinagawa ang naturang event sa Central Data Center sa Bonifacio Global City, Taguig; ang Transparency Data Center sa Sucat, Parañaque; at ang Backup Data Center sa Eastwood City Cyberpark, Quezon City.
