DOH, nanigurado na… Dagdag-oxygen vs. Delta variant

“Tayo po ay nagpe-prepare for this Delta variant. Sabi nga natin it’s just a matter of time bago makapasok... Currently our existing oxygen supply is sufficient but we need to add additional so that we can be more prepared,” ani DOH Undersecretary at Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire sa briefing ngayong Lunes, kung saan ang nasabing variant ay unang nai-report sa India.

“Our hospitals are now more guided that they should be expanding their beds already. Our local governments have been guided also they should intensify their PDITR (Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate) response,” sabi pa ni Vergeire.

Ipatupad ang protocol natin for isolation of close contacts and those turning positive,” saad ng kalihim.

“We will assess everyday so we can see if we need to heighten restrictions at kung kailangang magkaroon ulit ng NCR Plus bubble,” ani Vergeire.

“When the surge happened in April, there were a lot of our personnel who resigned or transferred. That is why our bed capacity is limited, while other hospitals have downsized,” ani De Grano sa Laging Handa briefing ngayong Lunes.

“We have enough oxygen support, ventilators, but if there will be a surge, we cannot easily expand our intensive care units because it comes with huge expenses, with additional required equipment, as well as highly trained nurses and doctors,” sabi pa ni De Grano, kung saan ang mga pribadong ospital ay may mandato na makapag-allocate ng 30% ng kanilang capacity sa mga COVID-19 patients.
