Muling pinalawig ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang prangkisa ng mga tradisyunal na jeep hanggang Disyembre 31 ng kasalukuyang taon mula sa huling itinakda na Hunyo 30.
Inihayag ni LTFRB Chairman Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III na maglalabas sila ng bagong memorandum circular sa mga susunod na araw hinggil sa nasabing desisyon.
“We are coming out with a new memorandum circular extending the deadline to December 31, 2023,” pagdedeklara ni Guadiz.
Ang pahayag ay kasunod na rin ng banta ng ilang transport groups hinggil sa isang linggong transport holiday simula sa Marso 6 hanggang 12.
“To be honest there is no pressure for us for this strike because more than 90% of the transport groups have signified their support to the program of the LTFRB,”ani Guadiz.
“[I]n deference to the Senate resolution of Senator Grace Poe and to the request of the secretary of the Department of Transportation, we will be extending the deadline to allow the transport sector more time to consolidate,” dagdag nito.
Nauna na ring ipinahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na umaasa itong hindi matutuloy ang isang linggong transport holiday.
