Deadline sa pagpapasa ng prangkisa ng mga tsuper, extended sa Marso 2021

Mas pinalawig pa ngayong Miyerkules ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang deadline para sa pagpapasa ng aplikasyon sa consolidation ng individual at existing franchise holder sa ilalim ng PUV Modernization Program hanggang March 31, 2021.


Ayon kay DUMPER-PTDA party-list Representative Claudine Bautista, nag-isyu kamakailan ang LTFRB ng Memorandum Circular No. 2020-084 kung saan ipagpapaliban ang deadline nito sa December 31, 2020 at iuusog sa Marso, 2021.


Ang orihinal na deadline nito ay noong Hulyo 31 pa, ngunit napagdesisyunan ng LTFRB na palawigin ito hanggang katapusan ng taon alinsunod sa deklarasyon ni Pangulong Duterte sa National Health Emergency dahil sa COVID-19.


Samantala, ini-request ni Bautista na mas palawigin pa ito dahil hindi pa umano nakare-recover ang public transport industry dahil sa pandemya.


Aniya, “PUV operators and drivers cannot at this moment shoulder the cost that comes with the filing of their application for consolidation. Their current economic situation necessitates that they be given more time to get back to their own feet and fully recover.”


Ibinahagi rin ni Bautista ang Bayanihan to Recover as One Act kung saan hindi pinapayagan ang mga phase out at non-compliance routes.


“I never doubted that the LTFRB will heed the appeal of the public transport sector. The board deserves a commendation from a grateful industry,” dagdag ni Bautista.
