Dahil sa Omicron variant.. 7 pang bansa bawal sa ‘Pinas — IATF

Inaprubahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) ngayong Linggo ang pagpapalawig ng travel restrictions sa pito pang mga bansa hanggang Disyembre 15 dahil sa naiulat na bagong kaso ng COVID-19 variant Omicron.


Kabilang ang Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, at Italy na idinagdag sa mga bansang nasa red list, kung saan unang inilagay sa listahan ang mga south African nations gaya ng South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, at Mozambique.


Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Cabinet Secretary at acting Presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles na ang sinumang inbound international traveler mula sa mga nabanggit na mga bansa sa loob ng huling 14 na araw bago pa ang kanilang pagdating sa Pilipinas ay hindi papayagang makapasok anuman ang kanilang vaccination status.


“Only Filipinos returning to the country via government-initiated or non-government-initiated repatriation and Bayanihan Flights may be allowed entry subject to the prevailing entry, testing, and quarantine protocols for Red List countries, jurisdictions, or territories,” sabi ni Nograles.


Pinangalanan ng World Health Organization (WHO) ang bagong nadiskubreng B.1.1.529 variant Omicron, na unang na-detect sa South Africa.


“With Omicron designated as a Variant of Concern, the IATF likewise approved the recommendations to strengthen local COVID-19 response,” ani Nograles.
