Pumanaw na si Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) president at dating Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Admiral Reuben Lista ngayong Martes nang umaga, Agosto 31.
Ayon kay PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo, si Lista ay namatay dahil sa COVID-19-related complications.
Aniya, naging maayos na ang kondisyon ni Lista noong una, hanggang sa ito ay ma-cardiac arrest nitong Lunes.
Wala namang iba pang ibinigay na detalye si Balilo.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely death and sudden passing of Admiral Reuben S. Lista PCG (Ret.), president and chief executive officer of the Philippine National Oil Company,” ayon sa statement ng Department of Energy (DOE).
Ang PNOC ay isang state-run firm na nasa ilalim ng DOE.
“The Department of Energy extends its heartfelt condolences to the entire Lista family - may you find strength, comfort, and peace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ,” pahayag pa ng DOE.
“Admiral Lista was our staunch partner in realizing our energy goals to effectively implement President Rodrigo Duterte's vision of ushering in a comfortable and secure future for the Filipino people,” dagdag pa ng ahensiya.
Sa hiwalay na pahayag, nagpaabot naman ng pakikiramay ang PCG sa pamilya ng pumanaw na si Lista.
Ayon sa Phil. Coast Guard, patuloy na aalalahanin ang liderato ni Lista sa Philippine maritime industry, at anila, “particularly for his dedicated public service in the PCG where he rose through the ranks.
“He led major PCG units, including the Marine Environmental Protection Command and several Coast Guard Districts in different regions across the country.
He served as the Deputy Commandant for Administration before being appointed as the 16th Commandant of the PCG from 2001 to 2003,” sabi pa ng PCG.
Matapos sa PCG, napabilang si Lista sa Philippine National Oil Corporation (PNOC) bilang chairman at CEO.
Ayon pa sa Coast Guard, si Lista ay bahagi rin ng Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) Class of 1969 at kinokonsiderang isa sa mga pinakamahuhusay na PMMA graduates na naglingkod sa Philippine Navy (PN) at PCG.
