Simula Setyembre 7... Pagbabakuna sa construction workers, start na — DOLE

Mahigit sa 400,000 manggagawa na nasa construction at manufacturing sectors ang nakatakdang bakunahan simula ngayong Martes, Setyembre 7, 2021, pahayag ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Ayon sa DOLE, isinagawa ang special vaccination program sa Maynila para sa mga manggagawa upang makatulong sa employment recovery ng bansa. Ito ay bahagi ng proyekto ng ahensiya na “Reform, Rebound, Recover: One Million Jobs for 2021.”

Sa isang pahayag ni DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, ang naturang proyekto ay nabuo sa pagtutulungan ng gobyerno at ng pribadong sektor na layong makapagbigay ng mga COVID-19 vaccines sa lahat ng mga manggagawa kung saan itinuturing na pangunahing economic contributors ng bansa.

Matatandaang inaprubahan ng National Task Force Against COVID-19, ang kahilingan ng DOLE para sa alokasyon ng COVID-19 vaccines sa 452,000 workers sa nabanggit na industriya dahil na rin sa kahalagahan ng mga ito sa ating ekonomiya.

Sa isang manifesto na pinirmahan ng DOLE at ng National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS) Task Force-member agencies, kabilang din ang mga nangungunang business groups na pinangunahan ng Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) at mga business organizations, nabuo ang tinatawag na ‘one million jobs for 2021.’

“That’s their show of support for the Task Force’s efforts to address employment issues caused by the pandemic,” paliwanag ni Bello.

“In return, the government through DOLE pledged it will source vaccines for qualified workers before they’re onboarded for work,” dagdag ng kalihim.

“As envisioned by the NERS Task Force, we are witnessing the whole of society come together for the recovery of jobs and the revival of the labor market,” ani Bello.

Pinasalamatan naman ni Bello si vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., sa pagtugon at pagdedeliber ng ipinangakong alokasyon ng mga bakuna para sa mga workers sa pamamagitan ang nasabing proyekto.

“As long as we persevere in our pursuit of safe and unabating recovery, our economy shall surely spring back and our workforce flourish,” sabi pa ni Bello.
