Walang naitalang pag-aalburuto sa Bulkang Taal sa nakalipas ng 24 oras, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ngayong Lunes.
“In the past 24-hour period, the Taal Volcano Network or TVN did not detect any volcanic earthquake. Activity at the main crater was dominated by upwelling of hot volcanic fluids in its lake which generated plumes 1,000 meters tall that drifted southwest,” ayon sa ahensiya sa inilabas nitong 8 a.m. bulletin.
Naglabas ang bulkan ng average na 1,140 tons ng sulfur dioxide noong March 27, ayon sa Phivolcs.
Nananatiling nakataas sa Alert Level 3 ang bulkan kung saan ibig sabihin nito ay mayroong “magmatic intrusion at the main crater that may further drive succeeding eruptions.”
Inirekomenda ng Phivolcs ang paglikas ng mga residente sa Taal Volcano Island at sa mga barangay ng Bilibinwang at Banyaga sa Agoncillo at Boso-boso, Gulod at eastern Bugaan East sa Laurel.
Ito ay dahil sa “possible hazards of pyroclastic density currents and volcanic tsunami should stronger eruptions subsequently occur.”
Patuloy namang pinaaalala ng Phivolcs na ang Taal Volcano Island ay isang permanent danger zone at lahat ng aktibidad sa Taal Lake ay ipinagbabawal.
