Dear Chief Acosta,
Registered nutritionist-dietitian (RND) ako. Napagkalooban ako ng sertipiko at lisensya bilang isang RND noong bandang Agosto ng 2022. Hindi ko masabi ang saktong araw kung kailan naipagkaloob sa akin ang mga nasabing sertipiko at lisensya sapagkat nanakaw ang mga ito noong nakaraang linggo. Kung kaya hindi ko alam kung kailan mawawalan ng bisa ang aking mga sertipiko at lisensya. Nararapat ko na bang asikasuhin ang renewal ng aking sertipiko o lisensya? Salamat sa inyo. — Tem-Tem
Dear Tem-Tem,
Upang ikaw ay magabayan ng wasto patungkol sa akmang panahon kung kailan nararapat asikasuhin ang renewal ng iyong sertipiko, maaari mong tingnan ang Seksyon 20 ng Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10862, o ang “Nutrition and Dietetics Law of 2016,” kung saan nakasaad na:
“Section 20. Issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card. - A certificate of registration shall be issued to those who have passed the licensure examination, subject to compliance with the registration requirements and payment of fees, as prescribed by the Commission. It shall bear the signature of the Chairperson of the Commission and the Chairperson and members of the Board, indicating that the person named therein is entitled to the practice of the profession with all the privileges appurtenant thereto. Until withdrawn, revoked, or suspended in accordance with this Act, the certificate registration shall remain in full force and effect.
A professional identification card, bearing the registration number and date, its validity and expiry duly signed by the Chairperson of the Commission, shall likewise be issued to every registrant who has paid the prescribed fee. It shall be renewed every three (3) years upon payment of the prescribed fees therefor and compliance with the CPD requirement.”
Nabanggit sa nasabing probisyon ng batas na ang certificate of registration ay ipinagkakaloob sa mga pumasa ng licensure exam upang maging isang RND. Maliban dito, nagbibigay din ng isang professional identification card, kung saan nakalahad ang numero ng rehistro, araw na epektibo ito at araw ng kawalan ng bisa, at pirmado ng chairperson ng Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Ang nasabing ID o lisensya ay nararapat na i-renew kada tatlong taon. Kailangan lamang na bayaran ang mga karampatang fees at sumunod sa iba pang requirements ng continuing professional development. Sa iyong nabanggit na sitwasyon, meron kang tatlong taon, magmula noong Agosto ng 2022 upang asikasuhin ang pagre-renew ng iyong sertipiko o lisensya.
Ganoon din, nais naming ipaalam sa iyo ang patungkol sa Seksyon 23 ng R.A. 10862 kung saan nakasaad na maaaring ipagkaloob ang nasabing ID kung ito ay nawala, sa pamamagitan ng pagsusumite ng isang petition at pagbabayad ng angkop na fees sa Professional Regulatory Board of Nutrition and Dietetics. Nakasaad sa nasabing probisyon ng batas na:
“Section 23. Reissuance of Revoked Certificates of Registration, Replacement of Lost or Damaged Certificates of Registration, Professional Identification Cards or Special/Temporary Permits. x x x
A duplicate copy of lost certificates of registration, professional identification cards or special/temporary permits may be reissued in accordance with rules thereon and upon payment of the prescribed fee.”
