Ipinahayag ni Batangas 6th District Representative Vilma Santos-Recto ngayong Huwebes na hindi siya tatakbo sa anumang posisyon sa 2022 national at local elections.
“After careful consideration of the present situation, especially the limitations in conducting a campaign during a pandemic, I have decided not to seek any elective post in the May 2022 elections,” post ni Santos-Recto sa kanyang Instagram.
Subalit, kahit na hindi tatakbo sa eleksyon, nangako naman si Ate Vi na patuloy pa rin siyang magseserbisyo at maglilingkod sa kanyang mga kababayan.
“I have been serving the public for more than 23 years and I will continue to serve, in the best way I can, even in my private capacity,” sabi pa niya.
Ang House deputy speaker ay isa sa mga napipisil ng 1Sambayan coalition para sa presidential at vice-presidential nominees sa 2022 elections.
Matatandaang noong Hunyo, nabanggit na ni Ate Vi na wala siyang plano para sa 2022 national elections.
