Rumesponde ang Philippine Coast Guard upang sagipin ang mga crew members matapos magliyab ang isang barko malapit sa Shell Island, Cebu City ngayong Lunes.
Ayon sa ulat, nagliyab ang vessel engine room ng MTUG Super Shuttle 3 bandang alas-3:30 AM.
Ipinadala ng PCG ang BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) upang apulahin ang apoy at nasagip ang limang crew members at dalawa sa mga ito ang nagtamo ng second degree burns.
Pahayag ng PCG, “They were turned-over to a waiting PCG ambulance at Pier 3, Cebu City that swiftly transported the victims to the nearest hospital for medical assistance.
“Meanwhile, PCG firefighting team onboard BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) penetrated the engine compartment of the vessel to stop the engine, conduct boundary cooling, and combat the fire onboard.”
Saad ng PCG, “The team declared fire was under control at around 4:30 AM and subsequently declared fire out at around 5:05 AM.”
“At around 05:30 a.m., MTUG Super Shuttle 3 was safely towed by MTUG TYL to Ouano Wharf, Mandaue City for further assistance.”
