Pumanaw na ang American basketball player na si Galen Young dulot ng vehicular accident, kung saan isang sasakyan ang sumalpok sa kanyang tinutuluyan sa 4589 Horn Lake Road, Memphis.
Ayon sa Memphis Police Department, “At 2:42 am, officers responded to a crash at 4589 Horn Lake Rd. where a vehicle crashed into the house. After the crash investigation, Young, 45, was located inside the residence and pronounced deceased. A citation was issued to the driver. The investigation is ongoing.”
Si Young ay kilala bilang Aces’ import player ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) nu’ng 2000. Naglaro siya kasama ang San Miguel Beer nu’ng 2007. Nakalaro rin niya ang Alaska noong 2004 at 2009.
Nagpaabot naman ng pakikidalamhati si Alaska coach Jeff Cariaso.
Sabi nito, "This breaks my heart. Galen was one of my favorite imports to play with. Not only was he a warrior on the court, he was an even better friend off it.”
“Prayers for his family during this tough time. Rest well in heaven my friend,” dagdag ni Cariaso.
