Baguio City, ratsada pa sa 17 ginto sa BP

Ayaw magkumpiyansa ni Sports Development Officer IV Gudz Gonzales pero naniniwala itong masusungkit ng City of Baguio ang three-peat overall championship sa Philippine Sports Commission-Batang Pinoy 2022 na ginaganap sa Ilocos Sur.


Nakalikom ang City of Baguio ng 17 gold, 18 silver at 24 bronze medals, karamihan ay galing sa archery event kung saan ay pumana si Jathiel Caleb Fernandez ng limang gintong medalya.


"Hindi puwedeng magpakampante kasi "the ball is round" nga pero very hopeful kami na ma retain ulit ng team Baguio ang overall championship," saad ni Gonzales kahapon sa pagpapatuloy ng grassroots development program ng PSC sa pamumuno ni chairman Jose Emmanuel "Noli" M. Eala.


Walong ginto ang hinakot ng Team Baguio sa archery, lima kay Fernandez at tig-isa kina Jemuelle James Espiritu 15 Boys - 60 meters, Michiko Brianna Gonzales - Compound Girls 72 Arrows at Chass Mhaiven Colas U15 Boys - 50 meters.


Nasa pangalawang puwesto ng medal tally ang City of Lapu-Lapu na may 14 gold, 6 silver at 5 bronze medal habang pangatlo ang Quezon City (13G, 8S, 9B).


Nilangoy ni 15-year-old Julian Lowers De Kam ng Lucena ang pang-apat na ginto, matapos manalo sa 400-meter, 1500m at 200m freestyle at 100m butterfly.


Samantala, tatlong gintong medalya ang itinakbo ni Leonelyn Compuesto ng Masbate matapos manalo sa Girls 200m, 4X1100m relay at 400m.


Tatlo na rin ang gold medal ni Mico Villaran ng Bacolod City, nakuha niya ito sa 110m hurdles, 200m run at 400m habang dalawa ang pinitas ni Courtney Jewel Trangia, tig-isa sa shot put at Discus Throw.
