Itinaas sa Alert Level 3 ang status ng Bulkang Taal dahil sa magmatic unrest, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Batay sa 8 a.m. bulletin, sinabi ng PHIVOLCS na ang main crater ng Taal Volcano ay nag-generate ng “short-lived phreatomagmatic burst" bandang 7:22 a.m.
“This was followed by nearly continuous phreatomagmatic activity that generated plumes 1500 m accompanied by volcanic earthquake and infrasound signals," dagdag pa ng PHIVOLCS.
Sa ilalim ng Alert Level 3, "there is magmatic intrusion at the Main Crater that may further drive succeeding eruptions."
Inirekomenda na ng PHIVOLCS ang paglikas sa mga residente sa Taal Volcano Island at sa mga Barangay Bilibinwang at Banyaga sa Agoncillo, at Boso-bobo, Gulod at eastern Bugaan East sa Laurel "due to the possible hazards of pyroclastic density currents and volcanic tsunami should stronger eruptions subsequently occur."
Paulit-ulit ding ipinaaalala ng PHIVOLCS na ang Taal Volcano Island ay isang permanent danger zone. Ipinagbabawal din ng ahensiya ang pagpasok sa Taal Volcano Island, maging sa mga barangay ng Agoncillo at Laurel na itinuturing na high-risk.
"All activities on Taal Lake should not be allowed at this time," pahayag pa ng PHIVOLCS.
Nagpaalala rin ang PHIVOLCS sa mga komunidad malapit sa baybayin ng Taal Lake na "remain vigilant, take precautionary measures against possible airborne ash and vog and calmly prepare for possible evacuation should unrest intensify."
Patuloy din ang pag-monitor ng PHIVOLCS sa Taal Volcano at ire-report ang mga development ukol dito.
