Alamang at shellfish, may red tide — BFAR

Nagpositibo sa paralytic shellfish poison o toxic red tide ang ilang lugar sa bansa, ayon sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) noong Biyernes.


Base sa inilabas na shellfish bulletin nu'ng July 1, ayon sa BFAR, hindi ligtas kainin ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at alamang mula sa Sorsogon Bay sa Sorsogon, Irong-Irong Bay sa Western Samar, Matarinao Bay sa Eastern Samar, Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur, Balite Bay, Mati City sa Davao Oriental, Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur, Murcielgaos Bay sa Zamboanga del Norte, Murcielagos Bay sa Misamis Occidental, Coastal waters ng Dauis at Tagbilaran City sa Bohol at Coastal waters ng Milagros sa Masbate.


Paglilinaw naman ng BFAR, “Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking.”
