Sinagot na ni Rhian Ramos ang tungkol sa ibinalitang hindi raw nila natapos ang NYC Marathon ni Rep. Sam Verzosa.
Kaya bilang patunay ay nag-email ang Kapuso actress sa New York Road Runners.
“I emailed to ask why 3 of our splits were missing... here’s their response (Yup! Fact checking is THAT easy!)”
Sumagot naman ang NYRR Runner Services sa pamamagitan ng isang letter:
“Rhian, It looks like both you and Samuel fell behind the sweep and the timing points at 30km, 20 miles and 35 km were removed from the course as the streets reopened before you passed through. In Central Park, we can stay open longer, so you were picked up again at 40 km.
“We certainly are not holding those timing points against you; you are both still listed as official finishers - Tom,” paliwanag sa reply.
Kaya’t nakapagbigay ng mahabang mensahe si Rhian para sa mga pahayagang nagpapakalat ng fake news na diumano ay nandaya sila ng kanyang dyowa sa marathon.
Samantala, ito naman ang buwelta ng mga netizens sa post ni Rhian:
“You go, girl! Don’t let haters win.”
“Ang nega ng mga tao! ‘Di na lang maging masaya na ginawa n’ya ‘yun for charity. Talagang crab mentality pinaiiral, tsk…tsk...”
“Napaka-OA ng mga reactions ng mga nega comments without verifying facts. Ito talaga ‘yung crab mentality na ‘pag may bad na nangyari sa kapwa, mas masaya pa. Wala naman silang sinaktan na tao.”
Komento pa ng isa, “Ah ok, joined the marathon for a photo op, noted,” na sinagot naman ng netizens na, “Now, this comment is crab mentality. Feeling superior.”
“Nakalagay po nag-raise ng funds for charity. Para sa mga children with clefts to get proper treatment.”
Pagtatanggol pa sa pag-post ni Rhian sa email mula NYRR…
“Eh, ‘di ba, kinukuwestiyon ‘yung pagtapos ng marathon nila? Kaya need n’ya talaga ng proof. Gagawa ng fake news, itatama, pero in the end, ‘di rin naman papaniwalaan ‘yung fact check. Hay, kakaloka, kaya ang dami nang nauuto ‘pag eleksiyon. I know you have to qualify for this - meaning participating in other marathons to accumulate points needed to qualify. Maybe Rhian & partner just didn’t post their previous runs?”
Pahabol pa ng netizens, “Snaps of them while on the track is a more believable proof, impossible naman na walk lang sila to take pictures as it is an achievement to finish a marathon.”
