Relate-much si Megastar Sharon Cuneta sa role niya bilang ina ni Alden Richards sa inaabangang family drama movie nila titled Family of Two (A Mother & Son Story) mula sa CINEKO Productions.
Solo parent ni Alden ang role ni Mega sa movie na isinulat at idinirek ng winning tandem nina Mel del Rosario at Direk Nuel Naval. Silang dalawa ang magkasama sa buhay hanggang sa kailangan nang mag-solo ni Alden at iwan si Sharon na sobrang sakit for her.
In real life, inamin ni Sharon na nangyari na ito sa kanya, not once, but twice.
Pahayag ni Sharon, "I’ve been through this twice already. I have two more to go. Miel is leaving next year. Uh, when I brought KC to Paris in 2006 and then, I brought Frankie to New York in 2019.
"Buti na lang she had a gap year because COVID happened, so, we sent her back home. And now she’s there. And when she graduates, Miel naman kasi papa-gap year after high school, so, she’s still in her gap year, siya (Miel) naman ‘yung aalis.
"So, parang, ‘Wow, ha? Thank you. Parang lahat, kayo iiwan ako.'”
Ang bunso at pang-apat na anak ni Mega na si Miguel is 14 years old now. Tanggap ni Mega na she only has four years to be with her son dahil mag-aaral din tiyak sa ibang bansa ang bunso at nag-iisang anak na lalaki nila ni Kiko Pangilinan.
“So, darating talaga sa point na… With KC pala, I realized that na. Parang after college, your children talaga, ‘pag college pa lang and after, will leave you.
“They will live their own lives. And since I was also like that, it happened to me same with my brother, so I’m sure my parents went through a lot of the emotions that I had feel also, went through also.
“Ano na ‘yun, you’re kind thinking you’re prepared but every time, now si Frankie pa lang ‘yung labas-pasok, labas-pasok, uwi ‘pag bakasyon siya. Tuwing umaalis siya, parang dinudurog pa rin ‘yung puso ko. So, she’s graduating na next year. Thank you, Lord,” mahabang sabi ni Sharon sa mediacon ng Family of Two.
At kasunod na si Miel na isa sa “mawawala” sa bahay nila para mag-aral sa ibang bansa.
“Then, when Miel goes in, it’s still the same because the point of it all is may kulang na kasama mo at lumabas sa ‘yo. So, when that happens, it’s heartbreaking, heart trenching for a mother.
“But! Like I said nu’ng nag-18 si KC, there are two gifts you give to your children. I don’t know where I read this but I said, first, you gave them roots and then you gave them wings. And when you gave them wings, you don’t pull them back.
“Ngayon, you just keep on reminding, little by little. And then you just have to trust them the way you raised them. And if they decide to be something other than you expect, then, that’s their life.
So, you will love them anyway. I’m prepared for that but I’ve already know I will cry and cry,” lahad ni Sharon.
Tsika ng host ng mediacon na si MJ Felipe, feeling niya, um-attend siya ng Motherhood 101 class dahil sa mga pahayag ni Sharon.
“Ako… magaling akong nanay anuman ang sabihin nila. Napakabuti kong nanay,” sigaw ni Sharon.
Dagdag pa niya, “Dyusko, mamamatay for her kids. Pero sobrang busy. ‘Yun lang. Nanakawan ng panahon with children kasi kailangang gumawa ng kabuhayan.”
Ang Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story) ay isa sa sampung entries sa 2023 Metro Manila Filmfest na magsisimula sa December 25.
