Si Rear Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr. ang mauupo bilang bagong Philippine Navy Flag Officer In Command.
Hanggang sa pag-assume ni Adaci sa puwesto, si Navy vice commander Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia naman ang nagsilbi muna bilang acting chief mula noong Setyembre 9.
Bago manungkulan sa bagong posisyon, si Adaci ay commander ng Naval Forces Western Mindanao.
Gayundin, si Adaci ang kauna-unahang Navy chief na magsisilbi sa isang fixed term ng tatlong taon na itinakda ng Republic Act No. 11709.
Sa ginanap na change-of-command ceremony sa Philippine Navy headquarters sa Manila, naging guest of honor si Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Bartolome Bacarro.
Inanunsiyo rin ng AFP nitong Miyerkules ang pag-upo naman ni Maj. Gen. Arthur Cordura bilang kanilang bagong Vice Chief of Staff.
Pinalitan ni Cordura sa puwesto si Vice Admiral Rommel Anthony Reyes, ang Deputy Chief of Staff ng AFP, na nagsilbi sa isang acting capacity matapos ang retirement ni Lt. Gen Erickson Gloria noong Setyembre.
Si Cordura ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990 at nagsilbi sa iba’t ibang staff at command functions sa Philippine Air Force (PAF).
“Your years of experience in the noble profession of arms, most notably as Vice Commander of the Philippine Air Force, has more than prepared you for this position,” pahayag ni Bacarro sa ginanap na change-of-command ceremony sa Camp Aguinaldo.
“I am fully confident that you will continue to display passionate leadership in this position that entails a greater magnitude of responsibility and will give you the distinction as the first VCSAFP to serve for up to three years,” dagdag pa ni Bacarro.
