6 lugar nagpositibo sa toxic red tide – BFAR

Ipinahayag ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) na ang mga shellfish na nakolekta mula sa anim na mga lugar ay nagpositibo sa test para sa paralytic shellfish poison o toxic red tide.


Ayon sa BFAR, ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish at Acetes sp. o alamang na nakolekta ay hindi ligtas na kainin mula sa mga sumusunod na lugar:

• coastal waters ng Bolinao, Pangasinan;

• coastal waters ng Dauis at Tagbilaran City, Bohol;

• Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur;

• coastal waters ng Milagros, Masbate;

• Litalit Bay, San Benito, Surigao del Norte;

• Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur


“Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking,” pahayag ni BFAR National Director Commodore Eduardo Gongona sa isang advisory.
