May bago nang commandant ang Philippine Coast Guard matapos magretiro sa puwesto si Admiral Joel Garcia.
Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa puwesto bilang bagong pinuno ng PCG si Vice Admiral George Ursabia, Jr.
Epektibo kahapon, Hunyo 1 ang appointment kay Ursabia.
Si Ursabia ay miyembro ng PMA Hinirang Class of 1987.
Bago naging commander ng PCG-Marine Environmental Protection Command, nagsilbi rin si Ursabia bilang commander ng Coast Guard Districts sa Central Visayas, Palawan, Southeastern Mindanao at Northern Luzon.
Naging commander din ito ng Coast Guard Ready Force at Staff ng Maritime Safety Affairs.
Pinamunuan din ni Ursabia ang tatlong Search and Rescue Vessel ng PCG na BRP Romblon, BRP Davao Del Norte at BRP Pampanga.
