Humingi ng paumanhin si National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Major General Debold Sinas matapos na ulanin ng batikos ang idinaos nitong birthday party noong Mayo 8.
Sa kanyang opisyal na pahayag, iginiit ni Sinas na hindi nito intensyon na lumabag sa umiiral na mga panuntunan sa gitna ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
"I apologize for what transpired during my birthday that caused anxiety to the public. It was never my intention to disobey any existing protocols relative to the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine," ani Sinas.
Paliwanag ni Sinas, isang tradisyunal na Mañanita ang isinagawa ng kanyang mga tauhan para ipagdiwang ang kaarawan nito.
Naging maingat naman umano sila sa pagsunod sa anti-COVID 19 measures tulad ng social distancing.
"In all actuality, my accommodation to them was done with all cautiousness because I am fully aware of the Anti-Covid measures being implemented by the government. They were told to observe social distancing and other precautionary health measures," dagdag pa ni Sinas.
Kasabay nito, iginiit ng heneral na edited o pineke ang ilang larawang kumalat sa social media at ang ibang ginamit ay mga luma na rin.
"Some of the pictures circulating in the social media were edited and grabbed from old posts. The pictures may depict itself however it does not define the totality of what really had happened," pahayag pa ng NCRPO Chief.
Nauna nang inihayag ni PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa na iimbestigahan ng Internal Affairs Service (IAS) ang nasabing birthday party sa gitna ng lockdown.
