20 outage incidents, naitala sa Halalan 2022 – Meralco

Nakapagtala ang Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), ang pinakamalaking power distributor ng bansa, ng tinatayang 20 outage incidents sa kanilang mga franchise area ngayong Halalan 2022, Mayo 9.


“We have so far recorded 20 outage incidents, most of which were isolated troubles,” ayon sa Meralco sa isang statement, at dagdag pang pahayag nito, “outages were immediately addressed and restored accordingly.”


Batay sa Meralco ang mga apektadong sites ay ang mga sumusunod:


• Metro Manila: Sta. Ana, Sta. Mesa, at Tondo sa Manila, Valenzuela City, Batasan sa Quezon City, at Talon sa Las Piñas City

• Cavite: Cavite City, Naic, at Amadeo

• Batangas: Batangas City

• Bulacan: Hagonoy, San Francisco, San Jose del Monte

• Rizal: Antipolo at Cainta


“As of 12 noon, power has been fully restored in all affected areas,” saad ng Meralco.


“[It would be on] full alert until the conclusion of the elections,” ani power distributor.


“Our crew, field personnel and customer care groups immediately respond to calls from election officers,” sabi pa ng kumpanya.


Samantala, ang National Electrification Administration (NEA) ay nakapag-record naman ng 201 power interruptions sa buong bansa mula alas-4:00 ng madaling-araw hanggang alas-11:00 ng umaga ngayong Mayo 9.


Batay sa kanilang power monitoring report para sa national at local elections hanggang alas-11:00 ng umaga, ayon sa NEA may kabuuang 201 interruptions ang nai-record nationwide, na may average duration ng 70 minuto.


May kabuuang 1,456 barangay — 437 sa Luzon, 251 sa Visayas, at 768 sa Mindanao - ang apektado ng power interruptions na naitala mula alas-4:00 ng madaling-araw hanggang alas-11:00 ng umaga.


Paalala naman ng Meralco sa mga volunteers na nakatalaga sa mga polling precincts at para maiwasan ang insidente ng overloading, “not to bring additional appliances like electric fans and electric kettles.”


“Nonetheless, our customers can rest assured that we have contingency measures in place so that we can immediately address any emergency and trouble,” sabi ng Meralco.


“We have more than 270 generator sets and more than 500 flood lights ready to be deployed,” dagdag ng kumpanya.


Sakop ng franchise area ng Meralco ang 36 lungsod at 75 munisipalidad, kabilang na ang Metro Manila, ang mga lalawigan ng Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, at ilang portions ng mga probinsiya ng Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna, at Quezon.
