10K OFWs apektado pa rin ng deployment ban sa Saudi Arabia

Sampung libong overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) ang hindi makaalis ng Pilipinas dahil suspendido pa rin ang deployment ng household service workers sa Saudi Arabia.

Ayon ku Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, matatanggal lamang ang suspensiyon sa sandaling mag-issue na ng bagong guidelines sa deployment ng household service workers (HSWs) sa Saudi Arabia.

Matatandaang sinuspinde ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas ang verification contracts para mag-hire ng mga bagong HSWs matapos na mag-hire ng Saudi general ng ilang OFWs kahit pa blacklisted ang mga ito.

Itinigil din ng gobyerno ang deployment ng construction workers para sa mga bagong projects sa Saudi Arabia dahil hindi na-settle ng mga employer ang bayad sa back wages ng mga ito.

The government also stopped the deployment of construction workers for new projects in Saudi Arabia due to the failure of employers to settle the payment of back wages.
