1,582 tourism enterprises, nabigyan ng safety seals – DOT

Mahigit sa 1,500 safety seal certificates na ang nailabas ng Department of Tourism (DOT) para sa mga DOT-accredited tourism enterprises.


Sinabi ni DOT director Virgilio Maguigad, may kabuuang 1,612 tourism enterprises ang nag-apply para sa safety seals, kung saan 1,582 dito ang naaprubahan.


Aniya, may 30 aplikasyon naman ang pinoproseso pa at ini-evaluate nila.


“This particular safety seal issued by the DOT is valid up to 1 year upon which it’s linked to the accreditation. Once their accreditation expires or is due for renewal, they would have to be evaluated again,” pahayag ni Maguigad sa DOH Kapihan ngayong Huwebes.


Ayon kay Maguigad, ang National Capital Region, Region VI, at Region IV-A, ang nakapag-isyu ng may pinakamataas na bilang ng safety seals certificates na 264, 168, at 161, batay sa pagkakasunod.


Samantala, may kabuuang 317,892 o 92.51% ng mga tourism workers ang bakunado na kontra-COVID-19 sa buong bansa, kung saan target ng DOT na mabakunahan ang 349,543 manggagawa.


“NCR has the highest number of tourism workers vaccinated, followed by Region V, and Region III,” ani opisyal.


Binanggit din ni Maguigad na lahat ng tourism workers sa Baguio City, Aurora, Coron, El Nido, Puerto Princesa, San Vicente, Mandaue City, at Camiguin ay bakunado na laban sa COVID-19.


“Of course, booster shots are also on the pipeline for these tourism markers,” dagdag pa niya.


Ayon naman sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), ang DILG at ang local government units (LGUs) ay nakapag-isyu na ng kabuuang 59,139 safety seals.
