“Actually, I’m a bit scared because I prepare, I craft, I need to know but I’m accepting the challenge (sabay tingin kay Coco) and I want to see what I can do with this new approach of what he’s doing.
“As an actor, television talaga is not our medium because everything is fast, so everything we have to deliver. It’s not our medium otherwise kundi mababaliw ako. So, kailangan I have the preparation, I have the background, I have my past to be able to go where I want to go.
“At dahil nandito kami, it’s a work in progress and it’s actually nice because this is pleasant surprises that actually will challenge us as actors to be able to create, to be able to give and to be able to give justice to what is being ask from us. So, I’m looking forward to be directed by Direk Coco and of course Direk Malu (Sevilla) who I’ve worked with several times, (kaya) alam ko na ‘yung (style). But Coco, I haven’t worked (with him) as a director, so, this is to be the first and I accept your challenge,” kuwento ng aktres.
"But once you’re there already, masasabi mo na ‘Ang ganda nito’ lalo na kapag nasanay ka because unang-una, may element of surprise. Kumbaga matagal na ako rito sa industriya, ito ‘yung panibagong growth ko as an artist and that’s how I see it. So, alam mo na kapag nasa Coco Martin set ka, you have to step out of the plate, that’s the challenge there.”
“Saka ang sarap, you know for an actor, I think one of the most rewarding kasi we also create. We create our own character like what Ms. Irma said, 'di ba? We put our history, nag-aaral kami and more or less, may ideya ka na kung ano ang kine-create mong character and it’s also nice to get into the set when you collaborate with your director, tapos siya rin ang writer.
"And tapos, totoo rin ‘yung sinabi ni Ms. Susan (Africa), it’s a breath of fresh air kasi ang sarap mag-improve. ‘Yung improvisation on the spot. Kaya ang sarap na may challenge kasi it’s not your comfort zone, so, talagang on your toes as an actor to be able to create on the spot,” pagbabahagi naman ni Cherry Pie Picache.
“I like doing that, so, if that’s the case, challenge accepted, let’s do that.”
Pabor din si Ms. Charo Santos-Concio sa istilong walang script, “Change of mind set kasi kaming the older ones in the industry, medyo lumaki kami in a very structured world. So, pinag-aaralan mo lahat, character background, tapos you study your script, you memorize your lines, you come to the set prepared.
"Dito (Batang Quiapo), you have to be quick on your toes, really understand your character and intent of your character and understand the circumstances in the narrative your relationship with the other characters, and from there, you just have to give it your best. Si Coco kasi as a director, as a creative, he creates magic, so, you have to go along with that magic with him.”
“Ano rin kasi ako, eh, sorry, I’m not super fan of following completely ‘yung script. If I wanna add something and I know my character, I will add. But of course there are some directors naman who want to stick to the lines. But ako talaga, fan ako ng what comes out naturally from the heart and I would say what I want to say. So, I prefer ‘yun.”
